Welcome to Immediate Justice Nottingham.
The Immediate Justice project will ensure people who commit antisocial behaviour or low-level offences are made to clean up local streets, work in soup kitchens or take part in other positive community activities – within days of their offence.
Immediate Justice will only be available to eligible first-time or low-level offenders and gives them an alternative to going to court or paying fines – by spending a set amount of time repairing the harm they have caused to communities.
Persistent offenders will still be dealt with through robust criminal justice outcomes.
To ensure swift action is taken in response to the antisocial behaviour, Immediate Justice placements are to be completed within 48 hours of the Police completing the referral to the service.
Offenders who are referred to the scheme will be supervised by the OPCC Reparation Service, as they go out to carry out work in neighbourhoods across the city and county.
The types of activities could include cleaning off graffiti, or gardening works such as grass cutting, hedge trimming, dead leaf clearing, litter picking, removing flyposting, sign cleaning or working in charity shops.
Inspector Brendan Gaynor, Nottinghamshire Police's Prevention Hub lead for Immediate Justice said:
"The Immediate Justice scheme has proven to be really effective since its launch earlier this year and I'm particularly pleased with the number of different police teams who have used the programme, and the open-minded approach that has seen so many different offence types being included."
Immediate Justice programme has seen more than 1,000 offenders referred through its doors, following its launch in January 2024.

This is your opportunity to identify a location which you consider suitable for reparation activity to take place. Your report will be assessed to see if its suitable for the scheme but if not, your report will be forwarded to the relevant local authority and will be let you know the outcome. We intend to show before and after photos so you can see the range of reparation activity taking place.
